Today is a very, very sad day for the fashion industry, the iconic dominican fashion
designer Oscar de la Renta has passed. And even though his legacy will forever remain alive, his elegance, style, grace, talent but most importantly his warm and humble personality will be missed.
De la Renta had a real, exquisite passion for fashion and always made women all around the world feel like goddesses with his unique, stunning and classy designs.
Hoy es un dia muy, muy triste para la industria de la moda, el icono y diseñador dominicano Oscar de la Renta ha fallecido. Y aunque su legado se mantendrá vivo por siempre, su elegancia, estilo , gracia, talento pero aun mas importante, su cálida y humilde personalidad serán extrañadas.
De la Renta tenia una real y exquisita pasion por la moda y siempre hizo a mujeres alrededor de todo el mundo sentir como diosas con sus diseños clásicos, único, despampanantes.

De la Renta’s signature looks were rich colors and gorgeous voluminous skirts. He dressed numerous stars and first ladies, such as former first lady Laura Bush, and stars like Oprah Winfrey, Ann Hathaway and, most recently, George Clooney’s bride Amal Alamuddin.
He made dominicans and people all around the world in the fashion industry feel proud and thankful for having such an amazing designer and incredible human being.
And to remember him, here are some of my favorite De la Renta designs:
De la Renta se caracterizaba por sus colores vivos y bella faldas voluminosas. El vistio a numerosas estrellas y primera damas, tales como la ex primera dama de los Estados Unidos Laura Bush, tambien vistio a Oprah Winfrey, Ann Hathaway y su mas reciente, la novia de George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin.
El hizo que dominicanos y personas alrededor del mundo en la industria de la moda se sintieran orgullosas y agradecidos de tener un excelente diseñador e incredible ser humano.

One of my favorite moments/designs is the scene in Sex and the City, 6th season when The Russian gets Carrie the pretty pink ensemble from "Oscar" this is such a cute moment and the dress will forever epitomize the nature of de la Renta's couture to me: happy and beautiful designs that highlight the women that wear it, not the fashion.
